What are the different options for setting up groups in iLearn?

Creating groups individually can be time-consuming and repetitive (especially for large cohorts) which can lead to manual-handling error. In iLearn there are three alternative methods for creating groups: auto-create, auto-create cohorts, and import. Below are examples of situations for using each method:

  1. Auto-create – to create a set of groups and randomly assign members
  2. Auto-create cohorts – to create internal and external groups
  3. Import – to create tutorial groups
Alternatively, Unit convenors can automatically create groups in iLearn based on student enrolments through iTeach. These groups will be refreshed on a daily basis, meaning that when students change classes in eStudent, these changes will be reflected in these auto-created iLearn groups.
